Occupational Health

Clinihorta has been authorised since 2011 to provide External Occupational Health Services, operating with rigour, responsibility and full compliance with the Legal Framework for the Promotion of Safety and Health at Work (Law No. 102/2009, of 10 September, in its current wording). We have a multidisciplinary team made up of occupational physicians and nurses, ensuring an integrated and specialised approach to the needs of companies and their workers.

In Occupational Medicine, the occupational physician is responsible for assessing the workers’ physical and psychological fitness, promoting the prevention of occupational risks and contributing to the continuous improvement of workplace conditions. All workers undergo clinical tests, essential for monitoring their health and supporting the issuance of the Medical Fitness Certificate. In addition, the nursing team carries out complementary diagnostic exams, such as vision tests, audiograms, spirometry and electrocardiograms, ensuring comprehensive health surveillance. This reduces accidents, occupational diseases and absenteeism, while strengthening wellbeing and productivity.

The service includes pre-employment, periodic and occasional exams, with all results duly recorded in the Medical Fitness Certificate. This document may include recommendations or restrictions, communicated to the employer, ensuring the creation of safe work environments appropriate to workers’ health needs.

Occupational Medicine works in close cooperation with the Occupational Safety area, ensuring the implementation, monitoring and compliance of workplace hygiene, health and safety measures.

It is important to emphasise that hiring an External Occupational Health and Safety Service does not exempt the employer from their legal responsibilities, as it remains their duty to continuously ensure safe and healthy working conditions for all employees.
